From April 8^th to 9^th, the "Western Tour – Lectures / Free Consultation Community Outreach Project by the Orthodontics Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA)" was successfully held at Lanzhou University, which was undertaken by CSA Orthodontics Committee, hosted by School/Hospital of Stomatology of Lanzhou University and co-organized by the Stomatology Association of Gansu Province. The meeting was presided by Professor Ren Liling, Director of the Orthodontics Department of School/Hospital of Stomatology of Lanzhou University. Professor Liu Bin, Dean of School/Hospital of Stomatology of Lanzhou University and Professor Fang Bing, Director designate of the Orthodontics Committee of Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA), both had delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. More than 280 stomatologists from Gansu and surrounding provinces attended this event.

A number of well-known domestic orthodontic experts were invited to give lectures and free consultations during this "Western Tour". Professor Fang Bing, the director designate of the Orthodontics Committee of the Chinese Stomatology Association (CSA) & Director of Stomatology of the 9th People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine had delivered a speech named "Aesthetic Defects and Orthodontics Strategies for Class II Malocclusion". Professor Gao Xuemei who is from Orthodontics Department of Peking University Stomatological Hospital, delivered her speech named "A Few Minor Issues in Oral Sleep Medicine". Professor Liu Jihui, the Deputy Director-General of Shenyang Institute of Stomatology & Chief Doctor of Orthodontics, shared a speech named "Broad-thinking of Bone Class III – A Big / Small Talk about MSE". And associate professor Xu Lulu, the Deputy Director-General of Stomatology Center of PLA General Hospital, shared her "Orthodontics Strategies for Complex Adult Malocclusion". Also, Liu Weitao, the deputy chief physician of Saide Sunshine Stomatological Medical Group, gave a speech named "Vertical Variation and Control Strategies for Invisible Orthodontic". As well as Professor Ren Liling, Director of the Orthodontics Department of School/Hospital of Stomatology of Lanzhou University, with the speech as "Orthodontics Strategies for Openbite Malocclusion".

 

All of these speeches had delivered a wonderful academic feast for stomatologists in the western region.

     

On April 9th, all the experts participated in community outreach project in Hospital of Stomatology Lanzhou University by providing a free orthodontic examination for dozens of citizens who came to consult, and offering diagnosis advises & treatment methods.

The "Western Tour" community outreach project has further promoted the standardization of orthodontic clinical diagnosis and treatment technology in Gansu and its surrounding areas, improved the level of orthodontists and the development of stomatology in the western region, and also provided high-quality free oral clinic services for the local community.
